Pushkarams and their prominence

The most awaited Godavari Pushkaralu (also known as Kumbhamela) 2015 are just 3 months away. Here is our first part regarding the Pushkarams and their prominence. "Pushkaralu"- the word from Telugu origin means an Indian festival dedicated to worshipping of rivers. It is celebrated across the shrine banks of the 12 most hallowed rivers in the country. These celebrations include ancestral worship, spiritual ventilate and cultural programmes


Rajahmundry Bridge

The celebrations of these Pushkaralu are associated with movement of Jupiter also called as "Brhaspati" in local language. Each river is allied to a zodiac sign and when this Brhaspati enters that particular zodiac sign, Pushkaralu for that river commences. Here is the list of rivers and their related zodiac signs.

Godavari Pushkaralu are the most renowned Pushkaralu after the sacred Ganges Kumbhamela. This Godavari Kumbhamela is celebrated in all the cities and towns. But the biggest celebrations take place at it's birth place Nasik and then the city where the holy river emerges the biggest, Rajahmundry.

Rajahmundry- Cultural Capital of Andhra Pradesh is now the 3rd largest city after Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada- Guntur regions in the state. With its pleasant climatic conditions, diverse population and united citizens, the city of Great Grand Culture has a lot more to speak about. There are many notable landmarks like the Road-cum-Rail Bridge, Arch Bridge on the river Godavari, Bridge County, ARTS College(now to be University) and many more.

Bridge County is an Integrated township spread in area of about 50 acres, the first of it's kind in coastal Andhra is in Rajahmundry. It is becoming one of the biggest landmarks in the city after the bridges and some prominent places. This township offers various types of houses and delightful environments at very affordable prices. It is just 30 minutes drive from the city and now is becoming the heart with the quickly expanding city limits.
