Here comes our 3rd part on Godavari Pushkarams. This year for the Pushkarams, about 3-4 crore people are expected to visit Rajahmundry to have a holy dip in the divine river Godavari. This will be the largest ever Pushkarams till date to be attended by such a huge number.

The last Pushkarams were held in 2003. Andhra Pradesh extended a hearty welcome to all pilgrims and tourists who arrived for the Godavari Pushkaram which began on 30th July, 2003 and ended on 10th August, 2003.The State Information and Public Relations Department was the nodal agency for publicising Pushkaram. It published a book titled Godavari Pushkarams - Darshaneeya Shketralu in 6 languages. It also printed one lakh posters in Oriya, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, English and Hindi to be distributed in all the States and Union Territories. About 100 hoardings were set up all over the State besides outdoor publicity campaigns on bus panels. Public announcement booths were installed at 88 bathing ghats in the temple towns alongside the Godavari. There were around 10 media centres and 80 information centres equipped with telephone, computer, e-mail and Internet facilities for the journalists.
This time, the reputed private firms like Bridge County, International Paper Ltd and other prominent companies are taking active part in organising the Pushkarams in grand manner in the Sacred city of Rajahmundry. Bridge County besides just being a home developer is playing an important role in Pushkaram campaigning too. Being the biggest integrated housing society in coastal andhra it is using all its name and fame for attracting pilgrims all around the world to Rajahmundry.
